Established in 1999 as the first of its kind in the Sultanate, Al Mazunah Free Zone is located in Oman’s southern governorate of Dhofar, close to the Yemeni border. The strategic location of the free zone makes it the Gulf gateway for transit trading to the Republic of Yemen and the countries of East Africa. The total area of Al Mazunah is 14.5 million square meters, the long-term investment agreement that concluded between the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates and Golden Hala Company to develop and operate an area of 3 million square meters in 2010, is considered as one of its successes in the early stages of the free zone’s. The current number of projects based at the free zone has touched 366. As per Madayn’s development strategy, it intends to develop the second and third stage of Al Mazunah Free Zone infrastructure.
